Hawks Lose to CCBC Essex Knights 9-1

The College of Southern Maryland Hawks men's soccer team lost to the CCBC Essex Knights 9-1 on September 22.

CCBC Essex scored their first goal three minutes into the game, then added their second in the seventh minute. Two more goals near the end of the half gave them a 4-0 advantage at the break.

The Knights again needed just three minutes at the start of the second half to score, going up 5-0.

Freshman forward Nomen Felix Mbia Sampson scored the lone goal for the Hawks in the 50th minute. He is now tied for the team-lead in goals with four after playing only two games. He ended the night with three shots on goal.

Freshman forward Chad Farr was the only other Hawk to register a shot as he finished with two shots on goal.

CCBC Essex rattled off four more goals between the 52nd and 72nd minutes to finish out the rest of the scoring for the night.

CSM was outshot 18-8 in the game.

CSM is now 2-5 overall and 1-2 in Region 20 Division II.
