CSM Softball Celebrates All-Region 20 Honors in Stellar 2025 Season

 

The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) softball team has concluded a remarkable 2025 season, earning multiple accolades in the NJCAA Region 20 All-Region selections. Under the leadership of head coach Keith Sanderson, the Hawks achieved a 21-8-1 record, showcasing a potent offense and resilient defense.


First Team All-Region 20

  • Laci Johnson (Infield)
    Johnson's dominance at the plate was unmatched, boasting a .590 batting average, 15 home runs, 120 total bases, and 49 RBIs. Her power and consistency were pivotal in the Hawks' offensive success.

  • Megan Chroniger (Outfield)
    Chroniger delivered a stellar season with a .500 batting average, 25 RBIs, 8 home runs, and 91 total bases. Her ability to drive in runs and her presence in the outfield were instrumental to the team's achievements.


Second Team All-Region 20

  • Lexi Drayer (Infield)
    Drayer showcased her prowess with a .500 batting average, 29 RBIs, 5 home runs, and 81 total bases, solidifying her role as a key offensive contributor.

  • Katelyn Tkach (Battery)
    Tkach excelled in the circle, accumulating 95.2 innings pitched with a 4.10 ERA and 76 strikeouts, demonstrating resilience and skill throughout the season.

  • Dakota Headley (Outfield)
    Headley maintained a .422 batting average, 35 RBIs, and 48 total bases, consistently delivering in clutch moments to support the team's success.


 Honorable Mention

  • Kit Shrewsbury (Infield)
    Shrewsbury impressed with a .434 batting average, 35 RBIs, and 72 total bases, earning recognition for her outstanding contributions.


 Team Achievements

Under the guidance of head coach Keith Sanderson, the Hawks achieved a 21-8-1 regular season record. They won the MDJUCO conference, and their remarkable journey culminated in a 2-1 series victory over Hagerstown, propelling them into the semi final series against CCBC Catonsville in which ended a great season. The team's balanced offense and resilient pitching were key factors in their successful season.

The All-Region 20 selections reflect the dedication and talent of these student-athletes, who have set a high standard for future generations at CSM. Their achievements not only highlight individual excellence but also underscore the strength and unity of the Hawks softball program.
