The College of Southern Maryland Hawks women's basketball team picked up their third consecutive Region XX Division II win on February 21, taking care of the Howard Community College Dragons by a score of 92-67.

The Hawks put together one of their most complete games all season, never trailing and holding a double-digit lead after every quarter.

CSM recorded season-highs in field-goal percentage (60 percent) and assists (30). They also forced 26 Howard turnovers, and held the Dragons to a 38.2 field goal percentage and 2-23 from 3-point range.

"These girls right here, they're so dangerous as a team because when that light bulb clicks, and they're playing on all cylinders, they're a tough team because they have so many pieces and so many weapons," CSM head coach Ardell Jackson said. "These kids were relentless tonight. They never gave up. I'm proud of them. I'm proud of each and every last one of them. I'm just proud of all the work they've been putting in all season. They never gave up on us as coaches, and they never gave up on each other. I can't ask for anything more."

Freshman Karalina Lawrence led the Hawks in scoring with 30 points to secure her fourth 30-point game this season. She also grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds to log her 14th double-double of the season.

Freshmen Imani Holloway and Virginia Houston both registered their second double-doubles of the season after they each scored their season-highs in points. Holloway had 23 points off of 8-12 shooting from the floor, including going 3-3 from beyond the arc and 4-5 from the free-throw line. Houston scored her 13 points off the bench, making six of her eight field goal attempts. Both players also grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Hawks will wrap up their regular season schedule this week. They travel to take on the CCBC Essex Knights on Wednesday, February 26, then will host the Garrett College Lakers on Friday, February 28.
